Volunteer Opportunities for Individuals
Administrative
Administrative volunteers assist in various departments and service areas within Uspiritus. Filing, writing thank you notes, answering telephones, and assisting with data-entry are some of many ways you can lend your support. Volunteers must be 18 years old and complete the volunteer application process.
Mentor
Uspiritus staff go out of their way to make each of our residents feel special. Becoming a mentor on our residential campus in Anchorage, Kentucky is a great way for devoted volunteers to connect with one child longing for that stable, positive, adult relationship. A Uspiritus mentor offers friendship, advice and life experiences that inspire our young people to overcome their obstacles and be self-sufficient.Mentor volunteers must complete the volunteer application process plus attended mentor orientation training. Additionally, mentors are asked to make a one year commitment to spend a minimum of four hours per month with their mentees, communicate with the mentee weekly, and attend mentor/mentee group events, and program recognition events. Volunteers must be 21 years old and flexible depending on mentee’s need and request.
Special Events
From golf scrambles to a battle of the bands, volunteers are the key to successful events here at Uspiritus! Whether assisting with event design, registration, selling raffle tickets, crowd control, or clean up, event volunteers are a critical need for every event we hold.
Because all event volunteers represent Uspiritus we ask for personable people who can speak about our agency with confidence and knowledge. Volunteers must be 18 years of age or accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Tutor
Individualized attention gives our youth the support they need to perform at their grade level. Becoming a tutor at Uspiritus’s school in Anchorage, Kentucky will make an enormous impact on our youth.
