We asked our children a simple question. The same question people have asked children for years.
What are your hopes and dreams?
For some of our children, it was the first time anybody asked them. Or the first time anybody cared enough to ask them anything.
Hopes and dreams are real. They exist within the minds and hearts of every child. They keep our children up at night and they give them a glimmer of hope to hang onto.
We believe that every child at Bellewood deserves the right to dream. Dream about being an astronaut. Getting married. Making the final shot of the game. Falling in love. Going to college. These dreams haunt us. They pursue us. These are hopes and dreams that children want to live out during their life. We desire that those reading will be reminded that everyone deserves to have hope. For the present. For the future.
Hopes and dreams make the children who call Bellewood home feel normal. Feel like kids. Feel like they have a future.
The answers may sound simple, but to them the answers mean everything.
